Imagine SignWorks has had the opportunity to assist Smurfit Kappa in several signage projects recently. Smurfit Kappa recently acquired Bates Container and moved into a newly built facility off of Neiman Marcus Drive in Longview, TX. As part of a multi project deal, we built and installed an interior acrylic lobby sign.
Lobby signs help freshen up your offices interior. It can be a statement to the customer or vendor who enters the office that you are proud of your companies branding. The picture above is the final product installed in the lobby entrance. Lobby signs are great additions to other pictures and decorations needed to create an aesthetically pleasing office atmosphere.
For Smurfit Kappas interior sign we started with a 1/2″ thick piece of clear acrylic with polished and beveled edges. We then created a knock out border with frosted 3M plotter vinyl. The letters and logo are 1/2″ thick laser cut acrylic with a custom paint color match. The letters and logo are mounted and secured to the clear acrylic backing with high bond glue and double sided tape. The panel is secured to the wall using 1″ aluminum standoffs with a mill finish. The end product is a sharp looking interior piece that is the focal point when one enters the lobby area.
The acquisition of Bates Container by Smurfit Kappa prompted the recent signage projects that Imagine SignWorks has undertaken. It is always a good sign when businesses are expanding and moving to bigger and better locations. The entire community benefits with job creation and the opportunity for other small businesses to compete for new projects. Smurfit Kappa is a global leader in paper-based packaging. Even though they are an international company their corrugated products are a localized market and need to be close to their customer base.
