Luis Flores Aguilar has played soccer for 30 years from Youth Soccer, Premier, District 4, Olympic Development Program, Men’s Amateur Leagues, High School and College Soccer in the Bay Area.
He has coached at many different levels of the game from Under 10s to Adult Co-Ed Soccer. He has found much success and enjoyment in developing soccer players using his many years of playing experience.
I truly really believe in Soccer IQ. I started it based on my past experiences and what I see today. When I was a youth soccer player, I used to be that kid that never got into soccer games because I was not one of the better players. Even in games where we were winning 5-0, the coach would not put me in. Now for an 11 year old that can be traumatic. So with determination and courage I sought out help and was able to improve dramatically and score many goals the following year!
So as the years past, I began to notice a lot of soccer players that were unhappy playing or those people that sat the bench never getting into games. That brought back those memories, which is how Soccer IQ was born.
No one should ever be subjected to that. So I took my 30 years of soccer knowledge and coaching and developed Soccer IQ. The workshops not only help players read and play the game better, but also helps develop their self esteem and leadership skills. One example is that in all scrimmages I make different people captains of each team and encourage them to be Leaders.
I believe that all players have the ability to contribute significantly to their teams. I also believe that with the right approach and guidance, self esteem and confidence can be instilled and taught.
I have a great passion for this game which motivates me to give you the best I can offer.
