We have a long-lasting professional relationship with Buena Park’s Boys & Girls Club. As far back as 2013, we worked on the creation of a minivan wrap that would take a utilitarian vehicle and dress it up visually. The goal was to make the van look cool so that the youngsters riding in it would not feel embarrassed.
Putting Together Custom Van Graphics in Buena Park
Fast forward to today; the caring staff contacted us again with a need for vehicle graphics. The organization once again received a vehicle that it needed to identify as a Boys & Girls Club van. This graphics package had to fulfill a number of requirements.
- Identify Ken Grody Ford. This dealership partially funded the graphics package. For this reason, the organization felt strongly that the dealership’s name should be featured in the setup.
- Identify the “Youth of the Year” program. Each year, the Club awards outstanding youths. The organization recognizes its stars, which is a highlight among program participants. Mentioning this program boosts community involvement and recognition.
- Look cool. Just like with the original graphics project, the staff understands that youngsters are easily embarrassed when they are picked up by a van that looks like a daycare vehicle. There had to be a particular coolness factor to the look.
We started by taking measurements of the vehicle and then designing nine-inch-tall lettering that spells out “Youth Bus” on the hood and rear of the van. Next, we added die-cut graphics that mimic a full wrap by incorporating the vehicle’s silver paint. We created a Nike-like swoosh that also reminds of the famous Transformers. Then we added the identifying brand details. The organization’s logo rounds out the product.
