The Kimberly Luxury Apartments had a problem: outdated signage that failed to express the chic and pizzazz prospective tenants could expect to find on the inside. The maintenance professional for this and several other buildings contacted us to discuss the design and manufacture of apartment complex signs in Orange County, CA. A longtime client of ours, he knows that we specialize in the creation of signage suites for residential as well as commercial venues.
Boosting Curb Appeal with New Apartment Signs
After consulting with the client, we sketched out proofs for four signs.
- Post and panel vacancy sign. This product presents the building’s name and phone number with attractive gold lettering against a darker background. A “Vacancy” panel right underneath allows for the installation of a blade portion that reads “No.”
- Monument. It is interesting to note that the client chose another post and panel setup for the monument sign. This one features an elongated rectangle and brown posts.
- Fence marker. A solid board attaches to the barrier surrounding the property. It repeats the name of the community and the phone number for prospective tenants to call.
- Branding sign. Welcoming residents to The Kimberly, the last sign is yet another post and panel design that features an additional marketing message in the form of a few amenities tenants enjoy. Previously, this notation was part of the fence sign, but the client felt it would be more appropriate to put the information on the sign by the entrance.
We relied on aluminum composites because of the durability the material brings to the table. Additionally, we treated each marker with an anti-graffiti laminate. Doing so provides our client with the advantage of only having to clean a marker, rather than replace it if it ever gets vandalized. Since the cleanup is quick and easy with the laminate in place, this choice is sure to boost the property’s curb appeal even more.
Why Sign Upgrades Matter
For The Kimberly, the signage had simply reached the end of its useful life and begun to show its age. But there are other great reasons for an upgrade as well. For example, when you want to take your business’s appeal to a new generation of prospective clients or customers, it makes sense to update the look with the contemporary taste in mind. Examples include color changes, font upgrades, and style elements that no longer bespeak another decade. Adding subliminal backdrop images, too, heightens the good looks of the products.
Another reason to upgrade signs for apartment complexes in Orange County, CA, is the cost associated with frequent replacements. For management companies that oversee buildings in areas with high vandalism rates, the cost of changing signage after graffiti is added can be staggering. Counteract this expense with durable aluminum composite products that feature our laminate, which refuses to let the paint stick to the sign. A little cleaner and elbow grease get rid of unsightly tagging.
