Terence N. Church is Chairman of the Intellectual Property and Technology Licensing Group at Silicon Valley Law Group. He specializes in licensing, intellectual property and commercial transactions for high-tech and corporate clients.
Terry works with companies in securing and protecting trademark, copyright and trade secret intellectual property rights. He specializes in structuring and negotiating strategic partner agreements and technology licensing agreements, particularly for semiconductor, software and other high-tech industries. In addition, Terry advises on corporate compliance needs and franchise relationships. He also helps clients with channel strategy, distributor agreements and purchase and supply contracts.
Terry has diverse experience as a senior legal executive within prominent, publicly traded high-tech companies, including PeopleSoft, Cisco Systems and LSI Logic. He also has many years’ experience as a negotiator, entrepreneur and litigator.
Terry has been responsible for a wide variety of technology licensing transactions, technology acquisitions, strategic development arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing deals, channels, and intellectual property management. He has served as a consultant for corporate acquisition and joint venture integration activities.
Terry’s international experience includes three years in London as a Senior Legal Advisor for British Gas, where he negotiated international contracts with major oil, gas and power companies worldwide. He also worked as a litigation attorney with the Cooley, Godward law firm and managed litigation for McKesson Corporation.
Terry is on the Board of Directors for the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce and has presented at numerous conferences for legal and business professionals throughout the country. He is a frequent soccer and lacrosse coach and currently lives with his wife and two sons in Danville, California.
