Three Challenges Small Businesses Face – And How Outsourcing Could Be the Answer

By Victor Mataraso, Reliable Receptionist

Most small business owners face challenges on a daily basis that hold your business back from being as successful and productive as it could be. Like many challenges that you face, there are ways that you can combat these problems. First, you have to know what your business challenges are, and then you can tackle overcoming these issues.

1. Time.

Most small business owners have so many responsibilities that there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done. Outsourcing buys you the time you need to do what you do best, and leaves the administrative and customer communication tasks to someone else. Imagine a world where a professional communications expert answers your small business phone and can handle the caller’s needs, or transfer them to someone who can. If it’s your job to bring in new business, that can be hard to accomplish with a phone that isn’t being answered or one that is ringing so much it’s distracting you from making new sales. Outsourcing buys you the time you need to attract new business while still attending to your existing client base and their needs.
2. Money.

It’s no secret that small businesses don’t have the money to spend on hiring a lot of employees to fill all of their operational needs. Outsourcing acts as an extension of your business, which allows you to run a small business with resources like that of a big business-all without spending a lot of money. Need a marketing brochure, but don’t have a marketing department? Outsource it to a freelance writer or marketing consultant. Need a receptionist that can answer and transfer calls, but don’t have the money to pay a full-time salary and benefits? Outsource it to a communication company instead. For a fraction of the cost, you can fulfill almost any of your professional business needs without spending a lot of money that your business doesn’t have.

3. Space.

Adding personnel to your staff can be a challenge when you’re a small business because you may not have the workspace for another person. Especially if you’re running your business from a home office or a small business suite. If you need more manpower, but just don’t have the space or the means to obtain a bigger space, then outsourcing may be the answer to your problem. Since the company or professional you’re outsourcing your business needs to is an extension of your staff rather than a member of your staff, they conduct their business on your behalf from their own office-eliminating your need to have additional space in order to have additional help.

Small businesses face time, money, and space challenges–three challenges that can be a setback for the success and growth of almost any small business. Outsourcing can resolve these issues by allowing small businesses all over the country to compete in today’s global economy.
